A grieving dad who held his murdered child in his arms as his face "drained" of life has explained his shock after his son was shot through the kitchen window of the family home.
Michael Rainsford, 20, was killed after two bullets struck him in his chest and back as he stood downstairs in his Litherland home at 11.10pm on Tuesday night.
Devastated dad-of-seven Michael, 53, said he saw his son run from the kitchen into the hallway in a bid to get away from the gunman.
The boy then slumped to the floor and heartbroken Michael told the Liverpool Echo his "face just drained." Michael told Liverpool Echo: "When it happened, we were all in the house. "I was standing next to Mikey, when the shots came through the window. "I was going to take him
