Vera Lynn’s daughter has praised the singer for her ‘groundbreaking’ charity work following her death. The Forces’ Sweetheart has died aged 103, with news of her passing being confirmed by Dame Vera’s in a statement shared on Thursday (18 June).
Dame Vera has been praised for the ‘incredible legacy’ she leaves behind and her daughter Virginia Lewis-Jones has been remembering how her mother had made a difference to many families through her charity work.
The star, who is famed for her song We’ll Meet Again that became an anthem of hope during the Second World War, had been the founder and president of the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.
