While some are struggling in the current heat wave, others are trying to find ways to make it fun.But, being out in the heat also means cutting corners."We’re not doing a lot of walking.

We’re paying a lot of money for extra parking, so we do not walk in the heat," explained New Yorker Al Carraway.Carraway is visiting from New York with his kids, but is limiting their time outdoors.MORE HEADLINES:"Water fountains are turned off.

We went to three different places and they’re all off. Makes it a bit more hot," Carraway added. "We actually just moved from Arizona.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Stifling heat is expected to continue across many parts of the United States, prompting heat advisories and warnings from the fire-ravaged West to the Midwest and Northeast through Friday. The National Weather Service said "dangerous" heat and humidity will impact the Pacific Northwest, Northeast and central portions of the country. "The remainder of the work-week continues to look oppressively hot in the Northeast and the Pacific Northwest," the NWS said, adding that temperatures in the Northwest are expected to soar into the triple digits.In Portland, Oregon, temperatures neared 100 degrees Fahrenheit on Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA - We don’t need to emphasize how hot it is in the Delaware Valley, as an official fifth heat wave is in the record books.FOX 29’s Kathy Orr says Wednesday night will continue to be warm, with lows only dropping into the mid 70’s, with humidity to match, so not much in the way of relief overnight.
