Delhi are set to reopen on 1 September after prolonged closure due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic while many have chosen to adopt a wait-and-watch approach and will be calling students only after a few weeks.
Following a marked improvement in the city, the AAP-led Delhi government had announced that schools for classes 9 to 12, colleges and coaching institutions would reopen from today.
The Delhi government had clarified that no student would be forced to attend physical classes and the consent of parents would be mandatory.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia took to Twitter saying "Team Education" is prepared to reopen schools safely. "Only 20 per cent of the students have so far sent their parents consent forms.
