This is what 'rush hour' looked like on the motorways of Greater Manchester tonight. More than a week into the coronavirus lockdown and roads that would usually be heaving with commuters were eerily quiet this tea time.
Photos from Highways Englands' motorway cameras, taken between 5.30pm and 6pm on Tuesday, show almost entirely deserted carriageways on the M60, M62 and M602.
It comes as hundreds of thousands of people in Greater Manchester are now working from home, after the government put a stop to all but essential travel to try to slow the spread of coronavirus.
