Police were called to 1,008 reports of people having house parties and other gatherings across Greater Manchester in apparent defiance of the national coronavirus lockdown across the Easter weekend.

Police were called to 222 such reports on Easter Friday, 309 on Saturday, 386 on Easter Sunday and then a further 91 on bank holiday Monday, a total of 1,008 over the entire weekend, the M.E.N.
