Hayfever sufferers are being warned that their allergies may mimic the symptoms of coronavirus. Some people may find they start to cough when they react to pollen, which they may confuse for a symptom of Covid-19.
Doctors say hayfever sufferers need to consider whether their symptoms are the same as in previous years in order to decide whether to seek medical help, reports the BBC.
Dr Jonathan Leach, of the Royal College of GPs, said: "For most people who have hay fever it is the same symptoms as they have each year. "What we are finding is that some patients are saying 'look this is a different thing to what I had last year, could this be coronavirus?' and in that case it might be."
