Doctors at Warrington Hospital claim to have reduced coronavirus death rates thanks to breathing machines normally used for a sleeping disorder.
Clinicians at the Cheshire hospital have modified ‘black boxes’ usually used to help sleep apnoea patients with their breathing as an alternative to ventilating people battling COVID-19.
They say the new approach is less ‘intrusive and invasive’, and leads to a quicker recovery rate.
