English football's total commitment to finishing off this season could lead to one or both of the domestic cups being scrapped for the 2020/21 campaign.
The Premier League and EFL have both confirmed that they will do whatever it takes to finish off the current campaign in the face of the coronavirus crisis, with no other alternative put forward at their meetings this week.
A variety of legal and sporting issues were sure to arise with any other option, and the leagues are prepared to play on through the summer in order to finish the fixture lists that were effectively promised to their clubs at the beginning of the campaign.
