One of Donald Trump's closest aides has tested positive for Covid-19, it has been reported. Hope Hicks, who travelled with him on Air Force One to a rally in Minnesota on Wednesday, has tested positive for the virus according to Bloomberg News.
Hicks has been a central figure in Trump's inner circle - previously serving as White House Communications Director. She left the administration in 2018, before returning earlier this year as a 'counselor to the President', answering to his son in law, Jared Kushner.
The White House says there is no indication President Trump has contracted the virus. A spokesman said: "The President takes the health and safety of himself and anyone who works in support of him and the American people very seriously.
