Donegal boy asks people to stay in and save lives

A nine-year-old boy from Raphoe in Co Donegal has issued an appeal to people to stay in, stay safe and save lives. Jack Beattie, who is an honorary garda sergeant, made his request through the Little Blue Heroes Foundation before Donegal enters Level 4 coronavirus restrictions tonight.

It is the second video appeal he has made this year. Jack knows how important health is because he has to deal with osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease.

He could not have a party for either his seventh or eighth birthdays because of surgeries and Covid-19 scuppered his plans to celebrate his ninth birthday last March.
