The owner of the castle used in Downton Abbey has sparked outrage on today's This Morning. Lady Fiona Carnarvon spoke to This Morning's Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby about the struggles she is facing at Highclere Castle.
The Jacobethan 19th century castle, which was used for the popular period drama and film, sits in Hampshire and has a 5,000-acre estate.
Lady Carnarvon explained that most of the 150 staff members at Highclere have been put on furlough, prompting Phillip Schofield to question the reasons behind the decision.
She also complained about having to clean the 300 bedrooms - but angered viewers pointed out people faced losing their homes and were going without food amid the coronavirus pandemic.
