A Dumbarton animal charity is appealing for help to rehabilitate dogs who have suffered emotional trauma. The Scottish SPCA has developed a new sensory garden at their Milton rescue centre. They say many dogs who come into their care are under-socialised without basic learned behaviours - especially dogs rescued from puppy farms that have never known life outside a kennel. The charity is looking for help to equip the sensory garden and is calling on local people to donate.Assistant manager of the centre Kim Mackrell said: “The idea behind the garden is to provide dogs with sensory stimulation they will never have experienced before.“The garden is full of different scents which encourage them to use their senses and provides mental stimulation.
