Emmerdale has become the first British soap opera to resume filming as the cast and crew are back on set to produce six new episodes, eight weeks after it was forced to pause.

Soap expert Sharon Marshall announced the exciting news on ITV's This Morning while speaking to presenters Holly Willoughby, 39, and 58 year old Phillip Schofield, who recently drank a gin and tonic while out on a run.

Sharon explained that the new episodes, which are going to be aired on TV in June, are being called "lockdown episodes" because they'll focus on the relationships in various households.
