Emmerdale staff hit out at ITV bosses after they learned soap crew like Mimi Slinger and Karen Blick would get covid temperature checks - but they would be snubbed from the tests.

Journalists, office and tech staff revolted after John Whiston, head of ITV in the North, emailed staff to let them know about the plans, John wrote it “won’t necessarily be the same for everyone”.

But insiders claim Mr Whiston was forced to offer temperature testing for all after he was hit with a deluge of complaints from "p***ed off" staff.

One worker said: “People were very p***ed off. You can tell who the golden folk are. “We just have to doff our caps as the stars come in. “It’s daft.
