Coffee shops, restaurants and estate agents should be the first businesses to open their doors again when lockdown is lifted, the Government has been advised.
A report seen by Government ministers has suggested the re-openings could give a boost to Britain's flattened economy while providing only the smallest risk of transmitting coronavirus.
But premises will have to undergo revamps to ensure they can ensure social distancing. Restaurants would be required to make changes by leaving big distances between tables or installing screens, The Sun reports.
The recommendations have been made in a report written by Tory peer Lord Gadhia and Sir Jonathan Symonds, chairman of GlaxoSmithKline.
