A borough in Kent now has the highest coronavirus infection rate in England, new data shows. Latest figures show Swale had 631.7 cases per 100,000 people in the week to 18 November - propelling it above Hull, which was England's worst-affected place last week.

It follows an alarming rise in cases, which saw the number of new cases in Swale more than double in seven days. Experts have warned that southern England is fast overtaking parts of the north which have been heavily hit by the virus.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to outline plans to bring the country out of nationwide lockdown later today - with leaders in Kent warning the area could still face tough restrictions.
