The response of the European Union to the Covid 19 crisis is not enough and its failure to agree a radical package was a "grave concern", Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin has told the Dáil.
There was a need to break away in from "anti-European rhetoric", saying the debate among members states about "who gets our money was destructive".
Mr Martin also raised concerns about the powers of the European Central Bank being limited by a court ruling in Germany and he raised how some governments were apparently taking advantage of the crisis citing the example of Hungry where Prime Minister Victor Orban has extended his powers that went "go far beyond anything elsewhere."
