Victor Burke relocated to LA five years ago with his family and does transatlantic commutes back to play Wayne on Carrigstown.
However, when he headed back stateside for what he thought would be a two week trip on March 15th, little did he know he’d end up shooting Wayne’s Fair City scenes via Zoom over 8,000km away from RTÉ for the rest of 2020.
Recounting the initial chaos of his journey back home, Victor said, ‘I left here on the 15th of March… [On] one of the last flights out of Ireland like it was manic in the airport, it was like a movie.’ ‘It was bedlam like you couldn’t get a flight so yeah that was the last time I was in Ireland,’ he said and shared his first thoughts about what turned into a pandemic adding, ‘I thought I’d be back
