Fit dad 'recovering' from coronavirus was 'absolutely fine' minutes before death

A devoted dad recovering from suspected coronavirus died just minutes after sounding "absolutely fine". Dom Merrix, 46, had been self-isolating for 16 days after suffering from Covid-19 symptoms, although he was not tested for it.

His family spoke to him and he sounded well. But tragically, the lifelong Portsmouth FC fan suffered a heart attack after he had a rapid decline in his health which left him struggling to breathe at his home in Portsmouth, Hants.

His partner of 11 years, Sarah Merrix, 44, and their 10-year-old daughter Ellie-Mai had been living in the upstairs of their house while he remained downstairs.
