Health Service Executive Paul Reid has said the benefits of the supply and take-up of Covid-19 vaccines are being seen, with a further reduction in the number of people in hospital with the virus.
As of last night, there were 44 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals, including 15 patients in intensive care units. The HSE said that this weekend two-thirds of the eligible population will have received a first vaccine dose, and one third will be considered fully vaccinated.
