Gerry Ryan’s former partner Melanie Verwoerd has spoken out about her experience with COVID-19 after falling ill with the deadly virus in recent weeks.
The 53-year-old was a former ambassador for South Africa while she lived in Dublin but has since moved back and recently she and her two children were diagnosed with the virus that is sweeping the globe.
Melanie shared that her 29-year-old daughter Wilme was the first to show symptoms but soon after she and her 27-year-old son Wian also fell ill.
Speaking to The Independent about her experience she shared her daughter’s symptoms recounting how she had a high fever and bad cough which were accompanied by a tight chest. ‘We started with symptoms you are not hearing about.
