Police have confirmed that officers are investigating after a teenager was left injured as violence erupted on a tram before the Manchester City game yesterday.
The violent scenes broke out on a Metrolink service heading towards the Etihad stadium before City's clash with Huddersfield on Sunday (January 7).
Video footage showed a number of people becoming caught up in an altercation before a male, wearing a Manchester City t-shirt, was left with a bloodied face after it appeared he was struck.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police has now confirmed that officers were called to the scene to reports of an assault.
