Greggs is getting pasties and sausage rolls back onto Britain’s streets by reopening a small number of stores while it continues to trial safety measures.
Fans of the Newcastle-based baker will be able to purchase their favourite products, including coffee, pasties and cakes, at an undisclosed number of shops in the Tyneside area.
The gradual reopening process has followed a series of trials with staff testing working practices while remaining shut to customers.
The trial involving a restricted product range and shorter trading hours will take at least two weeks. After that, far more are set to open.
