Holiday credit note refunds now government backed if you live in Ireland

The Irish government has approved a holiday credit note refund scheme which will mean families will still get their money back if a travel agent or tour operator goes bust.

It's hoped that the move which was given approval earlier this month will help companies who are struggling to secure a refund for customers following holiday cancellations which have hit the travel industry due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will also give customers confidence to accept a credit refund note safe in the knowledge that they will not be left out of pocket.

The refund credit note can be to the value of all of the refund due or part of the refund alongside part cash. It will be issued with a future redeemable date, and on that date it can be exchanged for
