Spain looks set to revive its all-important tourism industry and open its borders again as soon as the end of June. At present, there’s a mandatory 14-day quarantine in force for anyone arriving from outside Spain.
But transport minister Jose Luis Abalos said that the rule was only meant to be temporary. Travel within the country – currently restricted as part of Spain’s strict coronavirus lockdown measures – is also expected to be phased back in.
Snr Abalos told Spanish TV network TVE: ”As soon as we Spaniards can travel to other provinces, foreigners will be able to come to Spain.” He added: ”From late June, we'll start the tourism activity, I hope," continuing "we must make Spain an attractive country from the health point of view." H
