The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a $2.2 trillion coronavirus relief package, complete with several provisions that will help music workers stay afloat.
The bill is now headed to President Donald Trump, who is expected to swiftly sign it into law. The House approved the measure, which is intended to salvage the economy and healthcare system, by a voice vote.
It is the largest economic relief bill in the nation's history. Titled the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, it will provide payments of up to $1,200 each to millions of Americans, and expand unemployment benefits for self-employed workers who are out of work due to the coronavirus crisis, including countless music professionals.
