A 'game-changing' test to find out whether people have been infected with coronavirus in the past has been approved by health officials and could be rolled out within weeks.
Pharmaceutical giant Roche's antibody test has been approved by Public Health England (PHE). The Department of Health is now understood to be in negotiations with the company to buy millions of units of the test.
Frontline health workers will be first to get access to the tests, which will tell you if you have already had Covid-19 - rather than whether you have the virus at present.
The Swiss healthcare company has said it could produce hundreds of thousands of the tests a week, meaning the wider UK public could also have access to the tests relatively quickly.
