Sign up to the MySalford newsletter and don't miss a thing happening in and around the cityA 'chemical explosion' at an industrial site in Salford left a 40-year-old man in hospital with serious burns to his face and hands.Fire crews, paramedics and police rushed to the CSG compound off Liverpool Road, Cadishead, at around 11.15am this morning.Residents described hearing a 'big blast' from the site and seeing green and yellow smoke rising into the air following the incident.Specialist firefighters from a hazardous materials unit were called in to help and an area to the north east of the compound was taped off.The injured man was immediately rushed to hospital by paramedics and is in a 'serious condition', currently being treated for.
