Perthshire and beyond paid touching tributes to a much-loved swimming coach this week after he sadly passed away from coronavirus.

Bill Craig died at Ninewells Hospital at the age of 81 after contracting the virus while being treated for a mild stroke.Invergowrie -based Bill was due to be discharged after treatment but spent his final days in a high dependency ward until his death on Monday, November 30. Fay (81) one of the first to get COVID jab in Perth and Kinross His funeral was held at Invergowrie Parish Church on Monday before a gathering was held at Birkhill Cemetery.

Popular Bill taught hundreds of children in Perth and Kinross and Tayside to swim for 25 years and was best known as an inspirational coaching stalwart for Dundee.
