KATE Garraway broke her silence today to reveal her birthday yesterday was "tough" as husband Derek Draper continues to battle coronavirus.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, shared a photo of her birthday cake as she admitted yesterday was her first one without him by her side in 16 years.
In a lengthy post shared on Instagram, Kate said today that Derek believes in the healing powers of "silliness" and she has tried to remind herself of that as she keeps her spirits lifted during this troubling time.
She wrote alongside two photos on Instagram: "So yesterday was always going to be a tough one - 1st birthday in 16 years without Derek - so for the kids & I, his abscence was very present.
