Actress Katie McGlynn has been cast in her first acting role since leaving Coronation Street. The former Corrie star, 27, has nabbed a leading role in the fourth series BBC drama series The Syndicate.
The news comes after McGlynn bid farewell to beloved cobbles character Sinead Tinker, whose character lost her battle with cancer earlier this year on the Manchester-based soap.
She had previously portrayed Jodie "Scout" Allen in Waterloo Road from 2011 to 2013. Speaking to OK! Magazine, Katie revealed that the role came about following her National Television Award win for her work on Corrie with news that The Syndicate writer Kay Mellor wanted to see her.
