Premier League clubs will not be able to sign foreign players under the age of 18 due to new FIFA regulations, moving away from EU law due to Brexit.

That rule is set to come into play on January 1, but clubs are hoping that they will be given more time to scout young talent due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Recruitment plans have been left in limbo due to the ongoing uncertainty, with the lack of football being played stopping scouts from finalising reports.

The usual summer transfer window could yet be moved from it’s usual position with a set date for the return of the league not yet decided, despite notable players coming to the end of their contracts.
