England international Kieran Trippier could be facing a ban after being charged by the FA for breaching betting rules. Trippier, who left Tottenham for Atletico Madrid last summer, could be hit with a long ban and a huge fine if found guilty of breaching their strict rules surrounding gambling.
The right-back has until May 18 to respond to the charge and could face serious consequences for his career if found guilty.
Strict rules mean there is a football wide ban on any gambling within the sport, preventing players, managers and staff from betting on any aspects of the game.
According to the Mirror, some of the investigation into Trippier surrounds his £20m transfer from the Premier League to La Liga last July.
