Latest Public Health Scotland Covid infection rates for all 32 councils as 2,233 new cases emerge

A further 2,233 Covid cases have been diagnosed in Scotland within the last 24 hours.Figures have been published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland (PHS) this afternoon as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.Nationally, there are 753 patients being treated in hospital which is down 23 from yesterday.

There are currently 57 people with the disease being treated in ICUs. The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 172 to 47,405.Of the new cases, 81 were from East Ayrshire, 49 in South Ayrshire and 43 attributed to North Ayrshire.A total of 666,880 positive tests have now been recorded from 3.486 million tests carried out since the start of the pandemic.A
