A senior paramedic in New York City has lifted the lid on life during coronavirus, saying the service is now busier than it was on 9/11.
With 17 years experience under his belt, Anthony Almojera now has trouble “disconnecting” from his work, following a day which saw 12 of his patients die with the symptoms of coronavirus.
Speaking to the BBC, he said: “This is a war with an invisible bullet - everyone you come into contact with is a bullet who could get you.” Anthony said: “New York City has the busiest emergency medical services (EMS) system in the world - with about 4,000 calls a day on average.
