He called me over to watch with him, and though I didn’t know it at the time, that moment would change my life. I remember seeing a woman in the pool, dancing in sync with music, her movements flowing effortlessly in and out of the water.
It was called synchronized swimming, and it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. I couldn’t look away. Something about her presence, the grace and joy in her movements, stirred something deep inside of me.
