BBC host Richard Osman opened up about his recent health scare, which landed him in hospital due to "pain" he experienced at night.

The 54-year-old House of Games star divulged that he suffered from kidney stones, describing the ordeal as "unbelievably painful".He underwent surgery to address the condition, which, according to the NHS, can lead to infections if not treated promptly.

The health incident was discussed on the latest instalment of his podcast 'The Rest is Entertainment', released on Tuesday.Co-host Marina Hyde, aged 50, expressed a prevailing "atmosphere of concern" in the studio during the podcast recording.

Recounting the event to Marina, he said: "I'm alright. I've had quite the week of it. I woke up the other night in pain and I had a kidney stone."He added: "If anyone at home has ever had one, it is the single most painful thing that has ever happened to me." When Marina shared her own experience by stating she found it more excruciating than childbirth, having gone through both, Richard replied with skepticism: "The doctors kept saying 'it's more painful than childbirth'.
