Suspect running from police falls off balcony, dies

CAYCE, S.C. - Authorities said that an unidentified suspect died after falling off a balcony while trying to run away from police. The Cayce Police Department in South Carolina said the incident started early Saturday morning after an officer responded to Guignard Park and noticed two individuals inside a vehicle. The park is closed after dark. 11-foot alligator kills man in Myrtle Beach yacht club community

Myrtle Beach yacht club community member is dead after a vicious attack by an 11-foot alligator. Horry County Fire Rescue units determined the alligator took hold of the person and pulled the victim into a retention pond, according to Myrtle Beach SC News. The victim's body was later recovered from the pond, and South Carolina Department of Natural Resources officials concluded the alligator should be euthanized on site. Earthquake rattles southeastern, Central Georgia

METTER, Ga. - Some Georgians woke up very early Saturday morning to the ground shaking.The United States Geological Survey reported an earthquake about 20 miles west of Statesboro, Georgia near Metter, Georgia. It happened around 4:05 a.m. and measured a 3.9 magnitude. People have reported feeling the quake in Savannah, Bluffton, and Statesboro and as far away as Columbia, Augusta, Warner Robins and Atlanta, according to the National Weather Service.There were no reports of any major damage caused by the quake.
