Besiktas have been reported to Fifa by Loris Karius as the Liverpool loanee is angry about unpaid wages. Erdal Torunogullari, who is a board member at the Turkish club, has confirmed the complaint has been lodged by goalkeeper Karius.
The Reds shot-stopper is in the second season of his two-year loan stint with Besiktas. And he now wants to return to Merseyside early amid the coronavirus crisis and his pay dispute.
Football in Turkey is on hold, like across Europe, with the COVID-19 pandemic having suspended the season. Karius’ future for the rest of the season, when football is expected to return this summer, is up in the air.
