The Premier League 's plan to get players to wear protective face masks has reportedly hit a road block, with some stars complaining the masks made it difficult for them to breathe. 'Project Restart' which aims to get the season back underway by June is set to press ahead when British prime minister Boris Johnson sets out his roadmap to bring the country out of lockdown amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
However, the plan to get players wearing face masks during games will likely be ditched, according to a report in the Daily Mirror.
One player who wore a mask while training during lockdown is said to have compared it to "running on top of Everest" because of the impact it had on his breathing.
