Love Island will make a surprise return to TV this summer, the Daily Star Sunday can reveal. After the new series had to be scrapped due to the pandemic, bosses are now planning a spin-off.
It will be a celebration of the show’s six series from the past five years. A show source said: “This news is going to thrill Love Island’s millions of fans. “It means they will still get their fix this summer.” The spin-off series will have a Gogglebox-style format with a string of former contestants watching clips of Love Island’s most memorable moments.
Producers hope to sign up favourites including Megan Barton-Hanson, Olivia Attwood, Kem Cetinay and Amber Gill. Our insider added: “It’s going to be a lovely trip down memory lane for the contestants.
