Rivals Manchester United and Manchester City have joined forces to donate £100,000 to local food banks. The initiative comes in the wake of the coronavirus crisis that has turned the sporting world - and life in general - upside down.

The two clubs have made the donation to help food banks in Greater Manchester meet increased demand from vulnerable people as a result of the pandemic.

Each club will donate £50,000 to the Trussell Trust. The Trussell Trust support a network of over 1,200 food bank centres, including 19 in the Greater Manchester area which will be the beneficiaries of this donation.
