Man Utd experience coronavirus scare after coach Michael Carrick forced to self-isolate

Manchester United's squad have had a Covid scare – with coach Michael Carrick forced to self-isolate. The former United and England star, now a key part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's backroom team, was forced to leave the club's bio-bubble at Christmas.

It's believed Carrick was been absent for the Old Trafford victories against Wolves and Aston Villa as he took precautions with a family member thought to have contracted the virus.

Carrick, who is not believed to have caught the virus himself, was back at the club for the midweek Carabao Cup semi-final defeat against Manchester City.

A United spokesperson confirmed: “Michael wasn't with us for a while but he's back now.” So far, while Premier League rivals City, Aston Villa and Newcaslt
