A man who contracted so-called 'Long Covid' has revealed he now sprinkles chilli peppers on his porridge just so he can taste something.
Declan Cassidy hasn’t been able to smell or taste anything since he was diagnosed with coronavirus in March following a trip to Berlin.
The Irishman is one of a growing number of people suffering from Long Covid around the world. Other persistent symptoms including chronic fatigue, breathlessness, brain fog, and anxiety.
Declan, 53, from Dublin, said doctors have told him it’s not his actual taste buds but rather his smell which allows him to distinguish different flavours.
