But, despite the gloom, there is hope. Independent fashion brands have in fact proven to be one of the few success stories from the last year. “People have continued to support independent brands, despite the pandemic,” says Browns fashion’s womenswear buying manager Holly Tanser. “We’ve seen so many of our new and less established brands have an incredible performance this year, sometimes even outshining their much larger and more well-known contemporaries.
