Delhi, Tamil Nadu, and Jammu and Kashmir saw biggest spikes in coronavirus cases on Monday The number of confirmed covid-19 cases in India rose by 17 percent in 12 hours to reach 1,251 yesterday evening, the latest data from the ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) shows.
The number of active cases rose 18 percent over the same period to 1,117. The ministry hasn’t posted any update so far today, in a break from the usual practice of posting morning updates.
Yesterday’s spike meant that the case count rose faster in half a day than what it did during the entire 24-hour period preceding this period, when the number of cases had risen by 15 percent to 1,071.
