UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has revealed that the Champions League and Europa League could be abandoned if coronavirus restrictions remain in place into September.
Both the Champions League and Europa League matches are currently suspended until further notice due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
While the finals of both competitions, and the final of the Women's Champions League, all of which were scheduled to take place in May, have already been postponed by the governing body. "We can't play it out in September or October," Ceferin told ZDF Sportstudio over the weekend. “If the authorities do not allow us to play, then we cannot play,” he added when asked if the campaign could be scrapped.
