Govt covid hospitals to get 50,000 'Made in India' ventilators from Centre
₹2,000 crore has been allocated for supplying 50,000 'Made in India' ventilators to government-run COVID hospitals across the country through the PM-CARES Fund.Apart from this, ₹1,000 crore has been allocated for the welfare of migrant labourers from the fund.According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), so far 2,923 ventilators have been manufactured, out of which 1,340 ventilators have already been delivered to the States/UTs.The recipients of these include Maharashtra (275), Delhi (275), Gujarat (175), Bihar (100), Karnataka (90), Rajasthan (75), among other States and Union Territories.

₹1,875 crore through a QIP.QIP is a tool used by listed companies to sell shares or other securities, which are convertible into stocks, to qualified institutional buyers such as mutual funds and insurance companies.Only two companies have managed to raise funds through the QIP route since covid-19 and the ensuing lockdown brought all economic activities to a grinding halt in the country in March.In May, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd raised ₹7,442 crore by selling shares to institutional investors including Invesco Oppenheimer Developing Markets Fund, Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and ICICI Prudential Asset Management CoLtd.JM Financial Ltd raised ₹770 crore through a QIP, earlier in June.Click here to read the Mint

Police Scotland gun cop who was blasted for following pornographic accounts on his public Twitter has been moved to a different department, the Daily Record understands.Supt Tony Beveridge was the head of armed policing for Scotland when the Record revealed he was engaging with a number of X-rated accounts, including @Chavbabes and @BritHotties, on his public Twitter profile.Many of these accounts linked to paid-for services and webcam videos.Beveridge was forced to admit that his behaviour was “not appropriate” and sources from within the firearms department told the Record his actions were “objectifying to women”.Following the Record’s story, it is understood that Beveridge has been moved from his role as head of firearms to Police
