A mum whose three-year-old son will likely spend his last days under coronavirus lockdown due to a rare cancer is pleading with other Brits to stay inside.
Jo Deeley, from Solihull in the West Midlands, first noticed something was wrong with little Xander in June last year when he began vomiting and experiencing balance problems.
When she took him to the doctor she was told it was probably an ear infection but antibiotics had no effect. "I certainly don't blame the doctors – they did the best they could," Jo said.
She began doing her own research and found HeadSmart, a campaign by The Brain Tumour Charity aiming to reduce diagnosis times by highlighting symptoms to keep an eye out for – several of which were being displayed by Xander.
